The Association of municipal waste management and city cleaning in the VKU (VKS im VKU)

The "VKS im VKU" is the leading municipal association for waste management, street cleaning and winter maintenance. It represents the interests of public-law parties responsible for waste management and the enterprise branches and services connected therewith. A close cooperation is maintained with the federal government, state governments (Länder) and local government associations.

The "VKS im VKU" advises and informs its members in general questions regarding waste disposal, city cleaning and winter maintenance and promotes the exchange of experiences in municipal waste management in a constantly changing market. By efficient lobbying, competent support and extensive services offered for the members, the "VKS im VKU" will maintain and strengthen the position of the municipal waste management.

The implemented merger of the VKS with the Association of Local Utilities (VKU) pools the forces of the municipal waste management and contributes to a stronger representation of the member's interests with regard to waste management in politics, economy and in the competition of the associations. The various services offered by the Association are further developed and adapted to the changing needs of the members. The members benefit not only from the various services offered by the "VKS im VKU", but also from the advantages of the membership in a large association, pooling all municipal supply and disposal infrastructure services.

About 430 enterprises and companies are members in the "VKS im VKU". There are another 200 sponsoring members, who are organised within a sponsors` association.
